Day 2
Emergency C section of Rotwiller was the second case of day 2.During this procedure, I was able to review how to perform the APGAR, which includes positioning the neonate correctly, examining the hard palate, observing various reflexes (sucking, rooting, and riding), listening for heart murmurs, and suturing the umbilicus.
I was confident at hand knots and suturing, but I found it challenging in a practical setting, where I realised that more practise is definitely required.

Day 1-2
It was my first time taking my own case, which involved gathering the patient's history, performing a physical examination, creating problem list to treatment plan, writing a SOAP and report, and caring for the patient after the surgeries.
The first case was female boxer patient who was presented for spay with the complication of anaesthesia due to sub-aortic stenosis and the surgery went quick without any complication.
I was able to learn and review many crucial concepts while working on this case, including the distinction between stirdor and stertor, heart auscultation location and grading, OVH and OE, various NSAIDs that can be used for dogs or cats, the risk of vegetative endocarditis in SAS patients and the use of antibiotics, body wall pain and common local anaesthetics used during surgery, how to run PCV and TP.
Writing surgery report, ICU treatment sheet and discharge/prognosis notes were something new that i learned as well.
